  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Incorrect product description follow up

Following up on my previous review, I can confirm that this ski package is pre-mounted with only the Rottefella NNN BASIC Touring binding and not the more robust Rottefella NNN-BC Auto binding as stated in the product description. After exchanging the NNN-BC boots that I purchased for these skis for NNN Touring boots, I have boots that fit the pre-mounted bindings.

I bump up my rating for this ski package because, overall, it is just fine other than having been misled by the incorrect product description. If you do purchase, plan on being limited to only the NNN Touring boots that are required to fit the bindings that come with the skis!

Product description states pre-mounted bindings are NNN BC. They are not, they are pre-mounted with BASIC NNN bindings! After purchasing this ski set from Sierra and specific NNN BC boots from another vendor, I discovered the compatibility issue. Hopefully, Sierra Customer Service will correct this unfortunate error.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Shockingly (dangerously?) bad

I bought these boots to take skiing. I took them out for a brief ~3 mile loop. Worked great, so I felt confident taking them on a longer and more committing 9 mile adventure ski. Wow, what a terrible idea. ~3 miles in the toes started ripping out of the boots whenever I would put any sort of lateral or backward pressure on them (so turning or climbing). It appears that the 3-pin holes were ripped out. After 8 miles total in the boots! The only nice thing to say is that these boots made me realize that I have great, loving, patient friends, who waited for me when I had to posthole up steep inclines because my ski wouldn't stay on, and when I had to walk down anything with turns because lateral pressure popped out the boot. Glad it wasn't a very cold day or this could have been a dangerous situation.
