    The construction of the carabiner is good but the gate can be a bit fiddly to open with one hand since there's very little clearance between the screw lock and the nose when opening.

    The product is UIAA certified (https://safety.theuiaa.org/front/product_detail_page_certified_labels.php?id=5898). 180 South was a brand of Exxel Outdoors which primarily sold rebranded protective gear from USANG, a Taiwanese manufacturer of PPE and other rope/strap/webbing accessories.

    Tightening and loosening the leg straps is a task, once they are set they hold well. The waist is luckily easier. Solid purchase, but they do sell these at Wal-mart so you will not get any street cred at the gym.
