  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Don't buy these boots.

These boots will keep your feet warm and dry for the first couple of uses in the snow or heavy rain. However, they are cheaply made and the soles will wear down within a few months. I bought these boots with the intent to wear them in the snow. This year in my part of the Northeast it has not snowed a lot so I have been using these boots as everyday work boots. I bought these boots in November, I am writing this few in late January , and the soles of the boots already show significant wear. It is as if I wore the boots for years, rather than a few months. In fact the sole of the ankle of the right boot has already cracked, allowing water to seep into the boot if i step into a puddle or when it rains. I do not recommend these boots for anyone who plans on wearing these boots everyday or even every other day. They are made of inferior materials and will not endure everyday use.

I wear a size 8.5 and bought a 9. The 9's were a little tight with thick socks but the boots eventually stretched to my foot size. The coloring is nice. I wore them for a 5 mile slow walk in the snow. My feet stayed warm. I noticed when I took my boot off, my foot had sweated up the boot. I think the boot doesn't absorb sweat like other boots. No big deal, I just put them on the boot warmer. I bought these boots because they reminded me of moon boots, which I didn't have as a kid. I thought I would look dorky wearing them and probably do, but my spirit and feet were happy. My husband said, "Please don't buy me boots like that." I myself think they look stylish and patriotic.

Cheap shoes. Don't worry too much about doing anything special to maintain them. Made of polyurethane. What you have here essentially is a polyester lining made to look like sheep shearling (sherpa), and plastic rubber made to look like leather (PU). You will get waterproof shoes. Water will not go through rubber. This is an updated, insulated version of those rubber rain boots. The lining makes it just a little more comfortable. You will still want wool socks. As far as scuffing goes, it's not leather so shoe polish isn't the solution. Look in auto supply stores. There are little markers that are used to hide curb rash on tires. You could also use a paint pen or Sharpie. If you are obsessed, you could spray on commercial tire dressing, or simply clean with applications of "Mop & Glo".
