They are super warm and super soft, and all-in-all live up to SmartWool's reputation. I had the matching top for a year (which kept me warm during a winter spent in northern Finland), and then once I saw these at a good price I knew I had to get them. I find that they are true to size; I normally wear a medium in other similar products, and these fit perfectly (5'6", 145 lbs). I've had issues with some other brands of wool bottoms being tight around the inner thigh, but these are perfect. A little thicker than midweight for other brands, but just right in my opinion!

I am 5'3" and they are a fine length for me, no bunching around the ankles. They are slightly low-rise, so they pair nicely with a longer shirt to keep the snow/cold out. Warm and comfy, they are mid-weight, but thinner than I expected- I've worn them skiing in sub-zero temps and was comfortable except when on the lift (though I only had on soft shell pants over the top). They are more than warm enough for mild and cold days. Smartwool quality, I expect to be wearing these for several years.

Seriously the dots really flatter your curves. I wear these as is like regular leggings with a top and they keep me toasty, comfy and a soft warm:) For reference I'm 5"6" and a muscular 140 lbs and the small fit perfectly(maybe just a tad big but there is no xs).
