Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. A rare sweater of high quality

Although I have not worn this yet because the weather has been so mild, I have tried it on and know already that I am going to be very glad it is in my wardrobe. The button-up style is unusual and smart. The big shawl collar is classy and I love the doubling up of the warm layer around the neck and shoulders. The red is very bright, but I think it is important to be flexible about such unimportant things, so I am going to just enjoy it. If the green was still in stock in my size, there would now be two of these sweaters in my drawer!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Hierloom sweater

Pros - Great quality, unique touch to the traditional shawl look, very warm, not too itchy for a wool sweater, long enough for my torso

Cons- Maybe if I paid retail 180$ I would have gone with a different color, but still really like the color and it made me branch out from gray navy and black

True to size and great quality sweater
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Very nice sweater

I had been looking for a shawl collar, and this fits the bill. Knit fabric is soft, yet firm. Haven't tried it out in really cold weather, so can't speak to its relative warmth. So far, very pleased.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. OK, but not up to Pendleton Standard

This sweater is quite nice, but no where near Pendleton's typical standard of quality. I've had it for about a month and I'm already noticing some pilling. May return it.

About Pendleton

The history of Pendleton blankets dates back to the mid-19th century, when a young man named Thomas Kay travelled west to Oregon and opened a mill in Salem. Kay’s grandchildren eventually went on to establish a mill in Pendleton, Oregon, which crafted blankets and robes for American Indians living in the region, including the Nez Perce, Navajo and Hopi nations. By the early 20th century, the Pendleton clothing line was expanded to include suiting and apparel, including the now legendary Pendleton virgin wool shirt. Today, this renowned American brand owns and operates seven manufacturing facilities as well as 75 Pendleton retail stores.
