5.0 out of 5 stars. I have used various shoes for kayaking. These are the best.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Dave C. from Wisconsin Dells on Wednesday, August 5, 2015I used them on mud, sand and rocks. They drain easily, dry rapidly and have not picked up any odors. They stayed on, despite deep mud, and washed off easily when I got out.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable fit, closed at the topVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Massachusetts on Friday, September 5, 2014THe water shoes I replaced let sand and gravel in at the top too easily; these are not only solid footing and comfy, but tight enough around my ankles to keep bothersome stuff out. The cinch that secures them seems the only likely weak spot ... fine now, but it might not endure.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Remember these are water shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New Mexico on Sunday, August 17, 2014Usual excellent Merrell quality at an even more excellent price. One important point to remember about this shoe. It's a water shoe that is not sized to accommodate the extra room needed for socks. If you want to wear socks, order a half to a full size greater. Also, these Merrells seemed to be a little narrower probably for the same reason, not designed for socks. The material around the toe is thicker and stiffer than regular Merrells. I don't believe they would be comfortable at all for long walks or runs. Again, they are a water shoe. This is my third pair of Merrells. Each one has a difference purpose; an around town shoe, a hiking shoe, and now a water shoe.

2.0 out of 5 stars. poor tractionVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Massachussets on Monday, July 21, 2014I bought these for maneuvering the canoe in low water. So far Ive only used them in the pool where I found them slippery on the wet tile. I can imagine how slippery they will be on rocks in a stream. On the descriptive tag there is a picture of a more practical water shoe. One with traction. Buy that one. The toe box on these accommodates a wide foot.
