5.0 out of 5 stars. Warm and lite weight

The sizing was correct. Fits snug, but not too tight. Haven't had the chance to take it out in the freezing temps yet, but I think it will get the job done. As mentioned, the zipper is on the wrong side, but works fine. For the price, it was a great purchase.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Chinese conspiracy?

I am sort of a merino wool hoodie fanatic. I own and constantly wear an Ibex Nomad, Ibex Aire, Smartwool Phd, and a Minus 33 Kodiak. Nothing is quite as nice as a cozy, soft, and stylish black hoody. Since it is winter I wear either the Smartwool or the Minus 33 every day as an all around "sweater" to augment our wood heat. When I head out the door, I put the Ibex Aire on as the first layer and if it is nice the only layer because it is a surprisingly warm jacket. Next to the Aire, the Ibex Nomad is my favorite and I save it for back packing because it is light and the snuggly style hood fits the best of all. (I have some other Ibex shak and Smartwool lightweight but they are not really worth mentioning). Once upon a time I purchased a black Icebreaker hoodie, but ended up sending it back to STP because I thought it was too light weight for what I wanted and the zipper was on the wrong size. I have quite a few Icebreaker items including a number of long sleeve shirts; several hats; long john bottoms, and a host of merino wool boxers that I wear everyday and love.

That is all background to this Icebreaker Camo. I will only give it a three for a number of reasons. It seems lighter weight than other "260" garments I own; the inner jacket is white and not printed like the outside (if it was the olive green like the hood lining it would be better; and worst of all the zipper is on the left side (must be some sort of communist/leftist conspiracy...me thinks). Frankly, I bought this jacket and a camo hat with ear flaps solely in anticipation of hunting season. I bought an XL instead of L because it is intended to be the outer layer of a multitude of layers during hunting season. I bought it for a decent price on sale and will not return it because I want it for hunting season. Not a great jacket, but it definitely will work for dragging that cow elk (who wants to eat a bull anyway?) for the annual meat hunting adventure.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Got to love Icebreaker gear

I needed a top to keep me warm in the Mountains of Tennessee during dear season. I don't like bulky gear, and this jacket is perfect for dressing in layers. The hoodie is nice to keep your head and neck warm. My only problem is I was hoping the jacket would have been a little thicker.
