5.0 out of 5 stars. just a nice vest

I bought this for use during the mild winters here in El Paso Tx., for use around the ranch where a long sleeve jacket is just too warm to wear while being active around the stock. The fit was right on not overly hot on mid days. The pockets are well placed and very handy for all sorts of items the phone pocket is perfect since I am always loosing my phone while mounted. We don't get much rain here but the hood was nice during light rainfall and when the temps here drop 30/40 degrees at night. A 55 degree day quickly becomes 20/25 degree night and this vest is perfect during dusk when the winds whip up and once buttoned and with the hood on its very comfortable in the low 40's upper 30's. The duck canvas is ultra durable and stands up to hard wear and tear. A friend asked me to help him rebuild a barn that had suffered severe storm damage in Wisconsin, I went there late November to help him finish before it got too cold. During my two week stay we struggled through 20 degree weather and wind gusts of 30 mph and below zero windchills. I had only two outer layers one was the Carhartt Santa Fe jacket with the quilted flannel lining and my Sherpa lined vest, I layered both items while working in the cold and was very comfortable and thankful for the drop down tail and the warm sherpa lined hood on the vest. The Carhartt arctic quilted bib overalls were indispensable too.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
