4.0 out of 5 stars. Follow up.Reviewed by Anonymous from Colorado on Thursday, August 21, 2014It's held up well. Looks like it's gonna last a while. I still really like it. Wish the pockets had zippers like the hood-less version, but I really wanted a hood. Also wish the cuffs had elastic. Keep thinking about putting some in, but haven't done it yet.. It's water resistant, not waterproof. For heavy precipitation, get a hard shell. It's a DWR so washing and drying on low refreshes it. Great price compared to stores if purchased with an email flyer discount.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice CarharttVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mt outdrsmn from Montana on Friday, April 18, 2014Nice jacket. I'm 5' 10" 175lb. Fits a bit large for a medium.., just right for layering underneath. Long sleeve length a plus, if you have long arms like me, wish there were a way to adjust the cuffs though. Roomy hood and very large side pockets. Looks like durable material. Media port is cool for slipping headphones through. No inner pocket and no adjusters on the hood drawstrings, but at this price, it's a great jacket.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Solid softshellReviewed by Anonymous from Colorado on Friday, February 21, 2014Carhartt has some nice offerings in technical outerwear. This is a shell layer to protect you from the elements. The fleece lining just makes it soft on the skin. It does not provide much in the way of warmth. You have to layer under it with other clothes as needed . For heavy rain or wet snow, a waterproof breathable hard shell is preferred. For wind and lighter precipitation soft shells work well and tend to be more abrasion resistant. I got it to keep miles off my hard shell when the situation doesn't require it. I'm not an ounce counter, but weight and bulk do matter. Carhartt jackets tend to be a little heavier, but to me it's worth it for the greater durability. I have a 41" chest / 32" waist and usually wear a large in most clothing. A medium in this is a good fit for me with some room to breath.
What I like:
The construction is good. Main zipper is #5YKK. The chest pocket zipper is a #3YKK. The holes for the hood drawstring have large rivets so replacement would be easy if needed. It's comfortable and fairly light, but durable. The OD color blends with my natural environment.
What I don't like:
The side pockets lack zippers which means I cannot use them to hold anything important. The zippered chest pocket is decent sized though. Also, unlike the pictures there is no elastic in the cuffs on mine. Perhaps that's why it was a "2nd"?
