Wider comfort range than I expectedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bumpy from Boston on Thursday, February 11, 2016When the polar vortex hits Boston there is no such thing as a hat that is too warm, so I was delighted to add this hat to my collection even though I only expected to wear it a handful of the coldest days of the year. Since it was new, I wore it on a day with relatively mild temperatures (mid or upper 20s), and was surprised to find that it was not too warm when the wind was still, and blocked the strong gusts in the concrete canyons of downtown. I will wear it much more often than I expected. Four stars is because the fit is just a little off, the brim tends to droop a little. Not bad, and over a few days of fussing with it as I walk it seems to be molding to my head a bit better, so only a minor drawback. Definitely a welcome addition to fight the chill of winter walking commute in downtown.

Wife likes the way it looks, keeps my head warm, we're both happy!Reviewed by Anonymous from philly burbs on Saturday, December 14, 2013Nicely constructed, first class materials, warm in sub freezing temperatures, good wind protection, bill keeps falling snow out of your face, and relatively stylish looking for an Elmer Fudd style hat.
I wear size 7 1/4 hat, but my head shape is long front to back. Large fits a little snug because the stiff bill keeps it from fully conforming to my head shape. On the other hand, snug fit means no wind gets under it when flaps are down.
The natural materials make it heavy. Not uncomfortable on the head, but maybe not a hat you would want to pack for traveling.

It hasn't quite reached temperatures that warrant wearing this hat, yet I'm still wearing it, even as we speak. Most hats make my head itchy after a while, not with this one. The shearling is softer than anything I've ever experienced and the leather is top notch. Made in the USA, what else can you ask for?
